No i dont do that only to protect my articles from afd's, i creat them to co-ordinate wikiepdians effort on some subject.

For example, i created Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam:The Shia Guild in order to be able to unounce my intentions, news and question on a single place, instead of being made to paste it on the talk page of multiple editors.

It wasnt as succesfull on the Shi'a guild, since there is so few Shi'a editors, as it was a huge succes on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Islam:The Muslim Guild.

And many issues are simply not appropirate to put on peoples talk page, such as this

Also, it is not appropriate to anounce that some article should be created on people talk page. [2]

Where else, if not a guild, is the most appropriate place for a thing like this?

Take a look around, you will se lots of aritilces that are mentioned to be worked with. And of course we have a section for articles that are being afd'd, and are in the scope of the Guild, not having that would be malepractice.

Here is one comment i appreciated a bit more than usual:

How very amusing that i created the Shi'a guild on "16:12, 28 July 2005" and twelve minutes later did i creat this, something that earned me my first Barnstar.
