My name is Stuart Bruce and I originally started my user account in January 2012 with the intention of using it to contribute to the improvement of articles on topics that I am interested in and knowledgeable about. In reality, I haven't contributed to many articles yet. This is mainly because of 1) Lack of time 2) Articles I've looked at are already very good and I can't improve them 3) Articles that I don't think are as good as they could be and I'm capable of improving I don't want to as there is a risk of a perception of a conflict of interest.

As a public relations and corporate communications professional I am concious of the bad behaviour by some people who claim to do PR, but in reality can't be professionals, because of their unethical conduct. Unfortunately ethical professionals risk being tarnished by these people therefore I prefer to err on the side of caution and have been very conservative in my use of Wikipedia.

Examples of articles that fall into this third category where I could improved them from a neutral point of view and don't have any conflicts of interest include politicians, companies, organisations and government entities that I know well and perhaps am 'associated' with, but that I don't provide with any professional counsel (paid or unpaid). By associated it means I might have worked with them in the past, might know them (but not well), be a customer etc.

A full biography and details of what I do can be found on my blog, my company website and my various social media profiles on LinkedIn, Google+, Facebook, Twitter etc.
