Francis Maude Associates (FMA) is a consulting firm providing advice and support to leaders of governments outside the UK. It specialises in public-sector efficiency in areas such as procurement, financial management and digital services. The firm was founded in 2016 by British politicians Francis Maude and Simone Finn.

Francis Maude served in the UK Government as Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General from 2010 to 2015, and as Minister for Trade and Investment from 2015 to 2016.[1] After stepping down from government service, Maude founded FMA as a private enterprise with Simone Finn, who had previously worked with Maude as special adviser.[2]
FMA is currently registered as FMAP Ltd in the UK, and has registered offices in Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.[3][4]
Areas of work[edit]
FMA’s consulting work focuses on implementing efficiency and reform activity with governments outside the UK. This is influenced by the collective experiences Maude and Finn gained during their terms in the UK Government, in particular setting up and running the Efficiency and Reform Group, and wider civil service reform including the creation of the Crown Commercial Service and the Government Digital Service.[5]
In addition to Francis Maude and Simone Finn, FMA comprises other UK politicians and ex-civil servants, including Sir Robert Chote, Simon Collis, Nick Hurd and Nicholas Soames.[6]
FMA takes no paid work from the UK Government,[7] although Maude has completed two pro-bono reviews, one covering Civil Service governance and accountability;[8] and the other covering Cross-Cutting Functions of Government.[9]
