Cireng

Cireng (an abbreviation of aci digoreng, Sundanese for 'fried tapioca flour) is a snack originating from the Sundanese region which is made by frying a mixture of dough made from tapioca flour. This snack is very popular in the Parahyangan area, and is sold in various forms and flavor variations. This food was quite famous in the 80s. The ingredients include starch, wheat flour, water, ground pepper, salt, garlic, soybeans, spring onions and cooking oil.[1]

Nowadays, cireng is sold in various flavors and forms, such as chicken, beef, sausage, meatballs, to cheese and teriyaki chicken. In fact, innovation is not only in taste but in form, for example cimol, cilung, etc. Now cireng has spread to almost all corners of Indonesian archipelago. In the past, cireng was generally sold by traders riding bicycles with equipment for making cireng on the back of their bicycles. However, now cireng is available for sale online.
