TAR APACTS (full name: Thavixay SAYTHILATH) was born in Northern province of Laos and moved down to Vientiane since his early age of three month-old. He is the only son, his parents were separated when he was three years old and his mother is the breadwinner since then. He discovered himself loved singing and playing music in the age of eight.

He started joining a number of academic activities including singing, playing music, Lao traditional dancing when he was in secondary school. In the age of twelve, he requested his mother’s permission for joining the Singing Contest. Unfortunately, his mother did not allow him for doing that. However, he finally insisted and secretly joined the contest himself. Surprisingly, his mother secretly followed him and cheered him closely; due to his inexperience and innocence, he could not pass the audition. From this point, he realized that he must find his way to become a singer without joining any future contests.

Despite of initially unsuccessful, after he graduated from high school in 2002, just a year later, Tar and his friends (2 females and 3 males) had grouped up and established their own band called “A’PACTS” without signing with any Record Labels.

In 2003, A’PACTS had signed a contract with Valentine Music (record label), during the preparation of group album; Tar was nominated to be a main singer for Miss Lux 2003 Contest, the theme song called “Yord Ying Lao (the best Lao female)”

In 2004, Tar and friends was released their 1st album called “A’PACTS” on April 9. Their genre of song was Pop dance and their most well known songs were Khor Vela Thum Jai (give me a time), Phor (enough) and Hua Ngou (womanizer). The A’PACTS was the most popular band among the Lao teenager of that time. They had a countless concert tours both domestically and internationally.

In 2006, the A’PACTS had finished their contract with the Valentine Music. From this stage, the A’PACTS was also cached the other elite Music Record eyes, they then had signed their new contract with the Indee Record (music label). In the same year, Tar was nominated as the only male singer to sing a theme song called “Miss Lao” for Miss Lao Beauty pageant, which as the biggest and the first time ever beauty pageant in Laos.

In 2007, the A’PACTS released the special album with other prominent Lao singers. At this point, Tar’s solo single called “Thao Dai Kor Bor Ao” (it’s enough) that made him well recognized and be remember by a large fans. His single stayed still a number one on the top chart radio and television for eight weeks consecutively.

In 2008, A’PACTS was separated and this incident brought Tar a new opportunity to shine and proved his own professionalism. His first single was “Kavon Kavai” (paranoia) under KPY Entertainment. In 2009, his 2nd single was “Khor Dee Khor Sia” (pros and cons), composed by himself (Tar) where his second single’s MV was filmed in Thailand. In addition, there are a number of songs were released consecutively; the latest famous song is Jao Dai Bor…? (can you) ft Alexandra Bounxouei in 2014.

Later in 2011, he received the best male pop artist of the year 2011 and the best music video producer of the year 2012 in the Lao Music Awards.

Since being a solo singer, Tar had a number of tours in overseas on behalf of Lao Singer where he had visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Min city in Vietnam, Bandung in Indonesia, Bangkok and Supanburi in Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea (meet and greet with Lao fans). In 2013, he joined the ASEAN-Japan Music Festival in Tokyo, Japan. In 2014, he was nominated as a cultural ambassador in Japan for tourism promoting. During this program, he had a chance to visited many places such as Tokyo, Okinawa and Fukuoka.

At the present, Tar is actively produces a number of productions in Lao entertainment industry. He creates and supports new and young talented singers.

Education

Graduated Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, major in business administration and marketing.

He enrolled in few foreign language courses, and he also has a plan to further his higher education in the future.
