LGIAsuper[edit]

LGIAsuper is a profit-for-members, Australian superannuation fund based in Brisbane, Queensland. Established in 1965, the fund historically serviced Queensland local government employees as their default superannuation fund.

LGIAsuper has MySuper authority, with over 80,000 members and more than $12 billion in funds under management. The LGIAsuper Trustee acts as trustee of the fund under the Local Government Act (Qld). LGIAsuper is governed by a Trust Deed, which outlines the governing rules.

History[edit]

LGIAsuper was established in 1965. Prior to 8 February 2016, LGIAsuper was known as LGsuper which underwent a merger in July 2011 with City Super to become the one fund for all of local government in Queensland. Changes to local government legislation in July 2017 has resulted in the fund being accessible to all Australians.[1]

LGIAsuper offers a range of 12 investment options to choose from, providing members with access to 7 Ready-made and 5 Single Asset options, including two Socially Responsible options. The fund also offers a MySuper Lifecycle option for members who have not made an investment choice.
