I came here to say farewell and also to thank you. We differed in opinion on most issues but you always displayed a level of civility that I respected. Hi, don't be confused with WP:CITE. The current state of Germany article already conforms with WP:CITE, that you use Footnote style of citing together with inline citations. So when you simply added the long list of books/publications in a newly created References section and you said that they were copy-pasted from other sub-Germany articles and they were not used in the article, then it is not correct. It should be applied also in other article, such as Canada, but it has been featured, so what can I say? There is WP:FAR for reviewing FA article again, but I guess it is not a fatal mistake in Canada. Probabily, your timing was not right. When one reviewer asked about printed sources, you answered him/her by copy-pasting a list of references. That looked like a show-off action and made him/her think that you are not serious of taking his/her comments. — Indon (reply) — 17:15, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Jeff Rosenbaum

I have to dispute the nominators claim of "no outside sources, questionable notability" on this AfD. Number one, there are outside sources listed under references. In particular, he was one of the subjects of RE/Search magazine special edition on Modern Pagans: an Investigation of Contemporary Ritual (Re/Search) by V. Vale & John Sulak. This is a litmus test for notablity in the neopagan community. Most of the other interviewees have articles on Wikipedia. Notability is not an issue, regardless of what other issues there may be. This is not to belittle the problem of his posting the article himself, but if someone else had written it, there would be no question in my mind that it should be kept. Pagans typically avoid usual local newpaper and other media coverage, as it can lead to harassment in primarily Christian neighborhoods, especially if they have children in school. But RE/Search doesn't write articles on people they don't think are notable in some way. Ekajati (yakity-yak) 17:21, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Truli

Is the new guy, Truli, actually Mark Street? He/she seems to have appeared at the same time Mark says he's leaving and their writing style is very similar to when Mark goes off on a bit of a rant. Or maybe I'm just being a fool and it's blatently obvious they are the same person, like it's some kind of joke that I missed? Or I'm just wrong of course... I had the same thought, but then again, lots of users rant and rant and rant. Especially vandals. I am not saying that Truli is a vandal, but I had to revert him/her today. So did MariusM. In fact, we even coordinated it a bit (see MariusM's talk page) which is probably a first for the two of us. - Mauco 19:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

I for one have no idea what to think. Of course my immediate reaction was the same, I assumed that he was one of Mark's aliases. There are far too many similarities between their styles and for a new user, Truli seems to know a remarkable deal about Wikipedia policy and previous debates regarding the two articles he favors. But I cannot be sure. Truli's style seems to be different, he doesn't make as many accidental mistakes in his writing and the ones he does commit seem to be more idiomatic in nature than I would expect from a native English speaker. I want to assume good faith and believe that he's simply a new editor who is still learning the workings of Wikipedia, but it is hard to do so under the circumstances. This has nothing to do with anything here, but I wondered if you could tell me what the plus and minus numbers mean next to people's names on the edit histories in my watch list? "Foreign Spellings"

I do understand your point about making some of the links inactive; that is why I made the comment, much work to do. However, I beg to differ with you regarding the choice of spelling.

A number of editors have made it clear that we are to use foreign spellings for words from other languages, whenever possible. I listed them in my discussion comments, so as to make sure that no one would think I was being capricious. Most of those people I listed were long-time Wikipedians, many of them administrators, most of them non-English speakers, which of course lends them greater expertise than me. Their arguments, found on the Franz Josef Strauss page, were very persuasive, and they carried the vote on the subject.
