Tacoma Migrant Justice is a collective of residents within the City of Tacoma who works for social, economic, and political justice. Founded in 2017, Tacoma Migrant Justice builds off of 10 years of prior community-based research, public engagement, and outreach related to the human rights abuses documented at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington. The goals of this collective include filling the gap in legal services for individuals and families facing deportation and detention and creating a pathway to workforce training and jobs for youth within the immigrant and refugee communities.
