About me:

[edit]

My college major is fire science, and I'm currently pursuing a career as a firefighter in Washington state. Since I played Grand Theft Auto a few odd years ago, I've had a deep passion for motorcycles and aspire to own one. I'd be a member of the tip-toe gang because I'm only 5'2", but I'm considering buying a Kawasaki Ninja from Cycle Barn[1] or the Facebook marketplace as my first bike. In my opinion, parking on a college campus I go to, would be better with a motorcycle. I have been described as having a "bleeding heart" as I am very sympathetic. In political writing, the phrase "bleeding heart" is used to disparagingly describe someone who displays excessive sympathy for another person's unfortunate circumstances.[2] In addition, I've been told I have a death wish because I love riding motorcycles and want to become a firefighter.

My Wikipedia interests:

[edit]

Fandom is a wiki hosting service that hosts wikis primarily on entertainment-related topics; i.e. video games, TV series, movies, entertainers, etc.[3] I have therefore used Fandom far more often than Wikipedia. Ergo, my interests would include video games, music, motorcycles, anime, and other related things. I don't think I would trust myself to edit any pages, but that might change. I don't trust myself because I am aware that others are more knowledgeable than me and that anything I changed or edited would be incorrect.

Article Evaluation:

[edit]

I was raised on the Lionhead Studios video game franchise Fable. The game allowed me to escape the abusive reality I was experiencing and live in a fantastical world. There are three games, one of which has been remastered, and a few books that carry on the plot from where the game left off. The development of Fable 4[4] was picked up by Playground Games after Lionhead Studios filed for bankruptcy[5], and it is scheduled to be released around 2024. When I went to the Fable III article on Wikipedia, I discovered three things that were worth mentioning: Lack of wikilinks, biased sources, and the fact that it's current.

Lack of wikilinks:

[edit]

You can find wikilinks about the game platforms, voice actors, and certain term phrases like revolution near the beginning of the page. There are no links between the main characters, cities, the sanctuary, etc. as you scroll down to the gameplay and plot. There is no background knowledge on these individuals or locations. I could personally fill you in on every detail of the game and more, but since not everyone is familiar with me, I couldn't. Although there are more connections covering the characters, locations, creatures, game mechanics, combat, and much more if you go to Fandom[6]. If we attempted to create wiki articles for every single detail in every game, they would be removed, much as the controversy over the Pokemon on Wikipedia.

Biased sources:

[edit]

33 sources are cited in this article, and 34 if you include external links. From reference number 20 and forward, reviews of the game make up more than half of the citations. When someone uses their conscious or unconscious prejudices to influence how they judge another person, it is known as bias. What do you suppose the subject of all those reviews is? They won't all agree on or love the same things. Some players won't enjoy the game's visuals, gameplay, menu system, decision-making in-game, etc. I'm not implying that these biased sources are terrible because they are reviews and opinions, and everyone has a right to their own. The sources aren't telling you to support Trump or Biden; instead, they have a different bias.

Fact that it's current:

[edit]

On April 29, 2016, Microsoft shut down Lionhead Studios, the studio that created the renowned Fable video game series. Since that time, Microsoft has largely kept quiet about the shutdown.[7] The article's view history tab reveals that Wikibenboy94 made the most recent edit on September 24th, 2022. So this article is still being edited six years after Lionhead Studios closed. The game is still being played, and players are constantly comparing experiences.[8] Since Fable 4 is being created as we read this, the gaming community is still alive and will continue to expand.

Conclusion:

[edit]

I would like to call this piece "excellent," but it would be incorrect and biased. The depth of the information offers a reasonably thorough backdrop, although there aren't many wikilinks for the actual game, characters, places, etc. in the article. The article didn't favor one side of a "good game" or a "terrible game" because its biased sources were both in favor of and against the game. The Fable community will keep growing, especially with the release of Fable 4.
