The Kate Smith Show is a title applied — in some cases specifically and in other cases generically — to several radio programs in the United States, some of which had other distinct titles as indicated below. Singer Kate Smith starred in the programs, most of which were musically oriented, but some of which were talk shows. At times, Smith had more than one program on the air, accounting for some of the overlap in broadcast dates specified below.[1]
Kate Smith Sings (1931)[edit]
March 17 - April 23, 1931 on NBC. April 26 - September 12, 1931 on CBS.[1]
The program was broadcast on Tuesday and Thursday nights.[2]
Kate Smith and Her Swanee Music (1931-1933)[edit]
September 14, 1931 - October 31, 1933 on CBS. 15 minutes several times weekly (schedule varied)[1]
Jack Miller was the pianist.[1] The program was sponsored by La Palina cigars.[3]
