Dr. Joan Palmiter Bajorek is the founder and CEO of Women in Voice, an internationally recognized non-profit organization that promotes diversity in the voice technology industry for women. Her expertise is in voice technology, speech recognition, and natural language processing.[1]

As a public speaker, she has spoken at the 2019 Voice Summit, CES 2020, 2020 L3-AI by Rasa, Humans of AI, ConveyUX, 2021 MWC Telekom, and 2023 VentureBeat. She has received various awards in voice tech and diversity and also an Amazon Alexa Champion. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Speech Technology, highlighting her academic contributions to voice technology, AI and education. 

Dr. Bajorek has published numerous papers on bias in tech, gender equity, and AI ethics.  Her work is featured in publications including Harvard Business Review, Adobe XD, Cambridge University Press, UXmatters, and FLTMAG.

She has raised over $500k with 20+ chapters in different cuntries in a short span of time for the non profit organization.

Google Assistant was the first corporate sponsor for the non-profit organization.

She recently authored and published a book with Wiley publications on voice tech.
