6 New IPL Teams: Chattisgarh (Raipur), Assam (Guwahati), Kerala (Thiruvananthapuram), Jharkhand (Ranchi), Madhya Pradesh (Gwalior), Odisha (Cuttack)

Format: 2 Groups, A and B, each having 8 teams. Each team plays 14 games (home+away) with other teams in the same group. Top 3 teams (a1, a2, a3, b1, b2, b3) from each group qualifies. Each qualified team from one group plays a game with all the three teams qualified from other group [a1 vs b1/b2/b3, a2 vs b1/b2/b3, a3 vs b1/b2/b3]. Top two teams from these six teams plays the final.

Total of 122 games [= 112 (2 games/day = 56 days) + 9 (2 games/day => 3 alternate days say mon, wed, fri) + final (sun) = 94 matches (56days + 1week)] as against current 74 games (52days + 1week)
