Hi, I'm Melanie van Soeren, MD. I am a Canadian family doctor, born and raised in Beautiful British Columbia. My medical career has taken me to all three of our beautiful coasts. I completed my undergraduate degree and medical school at the University of British Columbia, and my residency at Memorial University, working in both Newfoundland and Labrador and Nunavut. I am currently a fellow in Memorial's Care of Underserved Populations enhance skills program. My areas of interest are rural and inner city medicine, women's health, indigenous health and global health; I am interested in the social determinants of health and the upstream factors that lead to poor health and health inequities.
