The Gaasperplas Line, or line 53, is an Amsterdam Metro metro line that connects the center of Amsterdam with the Eastern boroughs of Diemen and Southeastern Amsterdam. It serves 14 stations in 11.7 kilometres (7.3 mi), of which the first five from station Centraal Station are underground. The line is colored red on the map and is shared with lines 51 and 54 from Amsterdam Centraal to Spaklerweg, and it has a shared station at Van der Madeweg with lines 50 and 54. The line was first used in 1977. In 2009 some 60600 passengers used the Gaasperplas Line daily.

First and last train from Gaasperplas towards Centraal Station:

  • Monday through Friday: 5:50 - 0:12
  • Saturday: 6:27 - 0:12
  • Sunday: 7:27 - 0:12

During rush hour a train departs every 7 to 8 minutes. On weekdays a train departs every 10 minutes until 10 pm, then a train departs every 15 minutes. In the weekends a train departs every 10 minutes after 10 am and until 10 pm, because then a train departs every 15 minutes.[1]
