My fingers moved

Deliberately, Deftly, Decisively

Dictating my thought.

The striking of the keys echoed

Through the room

Spreading like a flood

Upon the dry plains

A wasteland, devoid.

The letters appeared

Like the writing on the wall

Then Firefox as my Daniel interprets them for me

I hit return, my breathing stops

As I leap into the abyss

Off of the cliff of the haven of ignorance

Vast, dark, unknown

The hole of the universe.

The ritual complete, my prayer goes up to the gods

They hear, they answer.

A flash of blinding light stuns me

With whites, blues, and silvers.

Glory radiates, swirling

like eddies in a river of life.

The puzzled earth instills in me a sense of direction

Like the two golden arches, my north star.

The search bar greets me,

Asking, for me to enter my query.

I review the results, searching

Like a little boy at Ellis Island

Searching the records for an entry of his great-great-grandfather.

The familiar line meets my eyes

I click enter, through an unknown door.

The completion of a journey, the destination

Being so much more than I ever imagined.

The knowledge streams from the page,

like gold flowing from a waterfall in the city

of El Dorado.

Everything else is drowned out, nothing matters.

I exhale
