Joshua Zarate is a 3rd-year Women's and Gender Studies student at Carleton University. He plans on becoming a social worker, aiming to also work in various communities in the Toronto area. Prior to beginning his studies, Joshua was residing in Mexico City, Mexico, working at his family's business and exploring the cityscape. In early 2011, he returned to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. There, he primarily focused on his music composition skills as a part of his intermittent journey to find a better sense of self.

Current Projects[edit]

As a component of the course FILM3301 Topics in Film and Gender, a wikipedia project is to be done. However, a prerequisite to the assignment is to complete a stub about oneself, a friend, filmmaker, or an imaginary person. This component is due on Friday, March. 6th at 11:00am. Early on in his learning of coding and HTML, Joshua quickly understood the meaning of being bold. As the tutorial stated, "Being bold is important on Wikipedia" [1]

University Activity[edit]

During his time at Carleton University, Joshua servas as a Primary Facilitator of the Women's and Gender Studies Student Society (WGSTSS) and a student representative of the Carleton Academic Student Government (CASG). Academic activities aside, he also enjoys making use of the athletics facilities and MacOdrum Library.
