"lolums" is a word used among many schools in Somerset, and possibly further outwards. It was created in October 2006 by a Tom Wilkins [Mr. LoLuMs] and Phoebe Sutton [Mrs. LoLuMs]

The word itself originates from the common slang abbrieviation, "LOL" meaning laugh out loud. "LoLuMs was created randomly in a conversation, and very quickly spread about rural somersetm now being used in instant messenging conversations throughout the south west of the British Isles.

There are different interpretaions of LoLums, including the following:

Lollums Lolumish Lolmus LoLuMiShAcAlAfRaGiLiStIcExPiAlIdOcIoUs Lolumness Lolumishness

mostly created again by mr and mrs lolums.
