The film will be released in high-definition on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, Movie Download, and 3D Movie Download on October 18, 2011.[1][2][3][4] The release will be produced in three different physical packages: a 2-disc combo pack (Blu-ray and DVD); a 5-disc combo pack (2-disc Blu-ray, 1-disc Blu-ray 3D, 1-disc DVD, and 1-disc Digital Copy); and a 15-disc four movie collection.[4][5] The film will also be released as a Movie Download option in both high definition and 3D.[4][6][5] The "Digital Copy" included in the 5-disc combo pack and the 15-disc four movie collection is a separate disc that allows users to transfer a copy of the film onto their computer through iTunes or Windows Media Player software.
The Movie Download versions will include three extra bonus features: "Bloopers of the Caribbean," "LEGO Animated Shorts: Captain Jack's Brick Tales," and "Deleted and Extra Scenes with Introductions by Director Rob Marshall."[6][5] The 2-disc combo pack extras include Disney Second Screen, "Bloopers of the Caribbean," "Audio Commentary from the Director Rob Marshall," and "Lego Animated Shorts: Captain Jack's Brick Tales."[6][5] The 5-disc combo pack version includes all of the same features as the 2-disc combo pack plus the "Legends of On Stranger Tides," "In Search of the Fountain," "Last Sail/First Voyage," and "Under the Scene: Bringing Mermaids to Life" bonus features, as well as "Deleted and Extended Scenes with Intros by Director Rob Marshall."[6][5] The 15-disc four movie collection comes packaged with Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2-disc Blu-ray and 1-disc Digital Copy), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2-disc Blu-ray and 1-disc Digital Copy), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2-disc Blu-ray and 1-disc Digital Copy), Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (1-disc Blu-ray 3D, 2-disc Blu-ray, 1-disc DVD, and 1-disc Digital Copy), and a 1-disc Blu-ray bonus disc that includes a short film called "Wedlocked."[6][5] The 15-disc trilogy set is also packaged in a replica pirate's chest with a map and a skull disc case.[6][5]
