An Advocate, IncomeTax Commissioner and MLA of Indian national congress Party.He won the 1954 Travancore-Cochin Legislative Assembly election from Ernakulam - Assembly constituency. He was the son of Olapurath Rappai Mappila, a Roman Catholic, who hailed from Mathilakam, Kodungallur,Thrissur. Later he was settled in pullepady, Ernakulam. He was the founding member of an old malayalam language Newspaper "Kerala Times" which was run by a Catholic Priest, Fr.Veliparambil for many years. Now the Newspaper is no longer in print. In the picture, he is seen with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, who visited Kerala for the Election Campaign. The Election Banner can be seen in the background, on which his name and Electoral Symbol "Kaalapetty" can be seen. ==
