What, specifically, do you recommend changing?--TrumpetManLA 19:49, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan, I am attempting to wikify this article and make it conform more to Wikipedia's standards and styles. I would be happy to work with you on this, as Wikipedia generally discourages self-promotion and insists on an encyclopedic style to its encyclopedia. If you work through me, or any other editor, prevent that perception from being applied to you. Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia! - CobaltBlueTony 20:05, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm assuming you're Ryan. Am I wrong? - CobaltBlueTony 20:08, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I'm not Ryan Anthony. I was simply writing a brief article about him since he is mentioned in the Canadian Brass article. Many serious trumpet players are aware of his playing and I was just trying to let more people be aware of his playing. What can I do differently?--TrumpetManLA 20:10, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The purpose of this encyclopedia is not quite the same as your intentions, but it's close. We strive to document everything under the sun (and the sun, and the stars, and everything else that exists, for that matter) with a neutral point of view. Check out articles on other musicians. Note that musicians whose careers have made them more of a household name, or whose body of work has lent them to become widely known and regarded, have article with more information documenting that, than say, younger artists, less well-known ones, or less notable. Ryan Anthony is definitely notable in my opinion, but I would like to make sure we don't 'toot his horn' too much, figuratively speaking (pun intended). I'm glad to help you with any problems or questions you might have. Just go ahead and document what you would like to, and I'll help you with importance and styling. - CobaltBlueTony 20:31, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony's birthdate[edit]

You could put Anthony's birthdate (if you know it) in the format of other Wikipedia articles. JBFrenchhorn 12:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
