Fábio Nascimento (born on July 22, 1978) is a Brazilian lawyer and PhD Researcher in Law and Religion in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He is a member of the International Service Committee of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society[1]. He is a consultant member of the Special Commission on Religious Freedom of the Federal OAB. He is an effective member of the Law and Religious Freedom Commissions of the OAB-PR and OAB-SC.
Early life and education[edit]
Fábio was born and raised in Santos, São Paulo. His parents, Silvia Lames Ferreira and Givaldo do Nascimento, are both Brazilians and they have African, Portuguese, Spanish, and Indigenous ancestry.
He received a Bachelor of law from Universidade São Francisco in 2003. He did a postgraduate studies in International Law in Centro Universitário das Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas on 2018; a postgraduate studies in Civil Law in Uniasselvi on 2020; and a postgraduate studies in Theology in Uniasselvi on 2022.
He participated on the LLM (Master of Law) class of 2023[2] in Brigham Young University. He is currently a PhD Researcher in Law and Religion in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Career[edit]
Fábio Nascimento is a member of the International Service Committee of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. He previously served as a member of the National Committee for Respecting Religious Diversity within the Secretariat of Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic.
Additionally, he acts as a consulting member of the Special Commission for Religious Freedom of the Federal Bar Association (OAB). He has served as the chairman of the Commission on Law and Religious Freedom of the Criciúma chapter of the OAB and as Vice President of the Commission on Law and Religious Freedom of the OAB-SC. Fábio is a full-fledged member of the Commissions on Law and Religious Freedom of the OAB-PR and OAB-SC. He is a partner at Bruno Augusto Advogados[3] in Curitiba. Presently, he works in the international division of the law firm Kirton McConkie in Salt Lake City, USA. Fábio is registered with the Bar Associations of São Paulo (OAB-SP), Paraná (OAB-PR), and Santa Catarina (OAB-SC) in Brazil.
