James P. Comer

James Piermont Comer (born September 25, 1934 in East Chicago, IN) is currently the Maurice Falk Professor of Child Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine's Child Study Center. [1] His work to improve the academic success of children from lower-income and minority backgrounds has led to the founding of the Comer School Development Program which promotes teamwork amongst parents, educators, and the community to improve social, emotional, and academic outcomes for children.
