UMESH KUMAR MANHAS

Early life & Education:

Umesh Kumar Manhas (Born on 27th of April, 1967, at Chhani, Chinta, Tehsil Bhadarwah, District Doda of J&K state), is an Indian Politician, Founder member and current National Joint Secretary of "National Democratic Party (Indian)" - NDPI. He is Science Graduate & an by Profession who being self employed works independently for some local Business houses of Jammu city & individuals. His Father “Late Ram Rattan Manhas” was also a Professional Accountant at Surat, Gujarat, where he served private business groups for more than 40 years and was a farmer in his early age before leaving for Surat.

Umesh Kumar Manhas completed his initial studies at Government High School Chinta (Bagvan), a beautiful cup shaped valley in Tehsil Bhadarwah. After completing his matriculation during 1980 he started

10+2 at Government boys Higher Secondary School, Bhadarwah city. He walked around 8 to 9 Kilometers daily to complete his 10+2 being a resident of remote village. After 10+2 he left for Surat, Gujarat to complete his graduation, as his father was settled there. After completing his Graduation in 1989 he left Surat & entered in the city of temples, Jammu of J&K state and started searching for a job. Struggled as a computer operator for a long time on very low salary of 750/- to 2000/- leaving jobs one after the other, for better income, during which applied for Government jobs so many times but couldn't succeed in attaining and later became professional accountant.

              Manhas had an inner fire & zeal to serve the people selflessly hence Joined an NGO "Indira Yuva Kendra" to serve as a social worker where he met three more like minded friends namely Sandeep Turki, Rajan Kumar & Sdr. Kuljit Singh. All the three friends are self employed & businessmen but being great human beings, always longed to serve downtrodden poor people and helped many students providing them free education & making affordable arrangements for the marriage of some poor girls to help their parents lessen their economic burden.

Pre-Political career:

Umesh Kumar Manhas started his career in an NGO as a social worker where he met like-minded fellow social workers namely Sandeep Turki, Rajan Kumar & Sdr. Kuljit Singh with whom he discussed about his zeal to serve the nation on a wider platform and hence decided to form a political party with them.

Kuljit Singh is a selfless self employed businessman who runs his snacks manufacturing business where he provided jobs to many educated/uneducated and poor aspirants as a social activist.

Rajan Kumar who is also a Science graduate and a self employed businessman doing business in the field of Information Technology and a social activist.

Sandeep Turki is also a Science Graduate, a Self employed businessman who runs business of Purchase, Sale and repair of Computers, printers & is a Selfless social worker .

All the friends helped many downtrodden, poor students & families by providing them free academic as well as technical education and later also got some poor girls married, helping their families arranging food & related things and so on, according to their worth and the donations received.

Political Career:

During 2015 all the friends thought of expansion to widen the range of their helping hand and decided to launch a political party. Being new in the field it took two years to get the things arranged and applied for the party registration u/s 29A of the Peoples’ Representation Act with Election commission of India in the year 2016 with the help of other social workers joining in and it again took two long years to get the party registered finally on 10th of January’2019.

                            All the four friends became core committee members of the party and decided to take part in Jammu Muncipal Corporation Election in October 2018. They took part in various political activities during this period in J&K State like Curbing corruption, Agitation on brutal attack on army convoy during Amarnath Yatra by militants and initiated the agitation on widely discussed minor rape & murder case at Rasana, Kathua through J&K State President Rajesh Gupta.

Party formed State wings in the state of J&K, Delhi Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra.
