An article

What do I think? Terrible. Please watch the article, too. Meanwhile, somebody has reverted my clean up again, so I reverted this. And I made a similar move in the main article. But from now on, I don´t have time and possibility. Thank you for your previous reply. Zdravím Vás! --Zbrnajsem (talk) 14:40, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Good afternoon, dear friend. Sorry that we can´t communicate in Czech on these pages. Anyway, I don´t understand the motives of our other compatriot, who again twice reverted my deleting of his special "prank". I would be very happy if you could support me in some way in this specific case. But this is no condition, even if it would be quite good for our mutual understanding, if you looked at what I just now wrote to our particular compatriot on his talk page.

I am also involved on wiki:cz, and there are huge problems on respective pages. But as far as I know this stupid prank has not yet emerged there.

It would be lovely if we could exchange views on Czech operas and their perception abroad, and not to bother about politics. In German speaking countries there is again some interest in "Prodaná nevěsta", e.g. in present days in Graz (Austria). However, Leoš Janáček is viewed as a giant of opera of the 20th century, and his works are played everywhere in the world very often, much more than Smetana or Dvořák (except "Rusalka"). --Zbrnajsem (talk) 11:39, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

I don't think that stubborn reverting is the best way how to resolve a content dispute here on Wikipedia. Instead of it, you should discuss the problem and perhaps seek an independent opinion of uninvolved editors via Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard or Wikipedia:Requests for comment. Cimmerian has some good arguments, the prank article by Reflex led to a serious misinterpretation of an important Slovak TV channel, and that's basically what our article says. Their incredibly idiotic and amateurish report contributes to the confusion of people on Internet, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8swIfGOWXuk (the video has English subtitles). Therefore I think the information could be considered relevant.
Another question is how important is the information/article for the global media portrait of Czech president. This whole hullabaloo over a really unclear and unimportant event has been grossly inflated by the media from the very beginning. I pause the term unclear, as to me it is quite shocking how quickly was the president's unwitting gesture called in the media worldwide a 'theft' or 'stealing'. Do they think the president is such an idiot to steal (deliberately) protocolar pens in front of cameras?? The situation could be interpreted in various ways, but they have chosen the most shocking and disparaging interpretation. It tells something about the careless and frivolous attitude of the media, which is — I thought (!) — characterisitic mainly to tabloid newspapers. However, as Cimmerian points out, it caught more attention than anything Klaus has ever done before. In my opinion the article has a very little informational value for this project and serves only to disparage the subject. Of course, it could be preserved as a monument and memento of the idiocy of today's world.
Feel free to write in Czech, but I would prefer to discuss in English. Firstly, it is practising and improving of our 'Czenglish', and secondly, this discussion could attract the attention of other editors, who usually write in English on this part of the project :)
I spent a long time writing on Leoš Janáček and his composition here on en:wiki. He is my favourite composer, along with sad, raging and ironic Dmitri Shostakovich. They have managed to penetrate the deepest places in human soul in a fascinating and original way.

--Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 15:46, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Good afternoon again. I was forced to stop reverting that particular nonsense in the article concerned, but just a few minutes ago I told my opinion to our third friend. You know whom I mean. I am sorry to be like this, but there are things to be said. Between you and me there is no such problem, and so we can concentrate on other more pleasant topics in the near future. My nine year old grandson is with me now, I have to play with him and to cook something for lunch. So I apologize myself for today. Hopefully we can go on before end of week. A new section for this occasion, possibly on my talk page, could be named "Leoš Janáček". Sincerely, -- Zbrnajsem (talk) 10:41, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello again. As I wrote previously, it is not a nonsense, it is a fact that is backed up by reliable sources. The article clearly meets our criteria for inclusion and the root of the problem lies somewhere else. I would like to see Wikipedia as a detailed and comprehensive storage of information (not "the sum of all human knowledge", since real knowledge is something entirely different). I don't like censorship and excluding of important facts masked as BLP protection etc. Sometimes, Wikipedia tries to hide important and obvious associations in order to stay politically correct or I don't know what. Information that is available in multiple reliable sources is excluded from this project and the motivations are often questionable. However, I would support deleting of this article without hesitation. My dislike for this particular article is motivated by different factors. There's no important information for this encyclopedia. The president's stupid blunder was caught by people on Internet, and after the video became a hit on YouTube, it was interpreted and researched by the media as an interesting and embarrassing error of a highly visible statesman. What is the result for this encyclopedia? Our article intentionally presents the statesman in the role of thief or kleptomaniac, and I'm afraid it is the only purpose of the article. Please, note that I'm not a supporter or defender of the Czech president, I would protest against any effort to discredit anyone. I'm aware that this is only my opinion, and I'm willing to accept any sensible explanation of the encyclopedic importance of this topic. I just follow my common sense.
Feel free to ask anything about Janáček, Zbrnajsem. I'll gladly discuss any questions you have. My greetings to you and your grandson :) --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 08:43, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

I see today it is a very special day concerning the Czechoslovak history. I am almost sure that the world has not taken any substantial notice of this anniversary. So it goes, and two small nations have no importance. Sadly there are two nations now, but Klaus had no other choice in 1992.

I hope you have had a nice week up to now. Well, I don´t care much about the article concerned any more. I hope it will be deleted by someone else. Yes, maybe it was a stupid blunder, but he is besieged and hated by people who owe him their own freedom more than to enyone else. And their economic wellfare as well. There will be a successor. I wonder who comes in 2013. And I wonder what will occur in the world up to 2013.

Wanted to write more to you, but one cousin called me over Skype. I would be really glad to discuss Janáček / Smetana / Verdi / Puccini / Bellini / Donizetti / Händel / even Wagner etc. with you. What do you think of Emy Destinn / Renée Fleming / Domingo in Ceský Krumlov / Anna Netrebko / Vittorio Grigolo? Grigolo is not yet on wiki:cz, although he is the most promising young tenor in the world. Topics like this are far better to be talked of, I agree with you. Best wishes, -- Zbrnajsem (talk) 11:02, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Of course I know almost all the composers/singers (Vittorio Grigolo is an unknown name to me), but I'm not a big fan of the Italian opera, Zbrnajsem :) My favourite opera composers are Mozart and Janáček. I focus more on orchestral and chamber music. Most recently I fell in love with the colorful melodics of Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc, Milhaud and Faure (or French music in general), so I'm trying to learn more about their music :) --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 08:19, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Vittorio Grigolo

In 2010, Vittorio Grigolo published a CD called "The Italian Tenor". Excellent singing, e.g. several arias by Puccini, among others from "Le Villi" and "Gianni Schicchi". As everybody can see, the English article about him is not up-to-date. How is it possible? Well, Mozart is of course everybody´s darling now, even in Vienna, where he died and ... But I love him too, and have seen "Don Giovanni" many times. Are there any news about Villa Bertramka in Prague? Beside this, I very much appreciate Jan Dismas Zelenka.

Have a nice evening. -- Zbrnajsem (talk) 19:34, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

Hmm, "The Italian Tenor" is mentioned in the article, see Vittorio_Grigolo#Discography. Btw, the easiest way how to update an article here on Wikipedia is editing it with the help of reliable sources. Anyone can do that :) Yes, I know some of the Zelenka's compositions, I like his trio sonatas (with beautiful oboe parts); his monumental choral works have a Bach-like quality. Btw, what do you think about the image on the right side? The person playing cello (sitting on the left) is allegedly Zelenka. It was posted by someone at classical-composers.org.[1] I doubt the attribution is correct; in my opinion there are no known images of him. (The image was removed from his article here on en-wiki). Not long ago I skimmed through a comprehensive and up-to-date Zelenka's biography by Jaroslav Smolka [2] (btw, prof. Smolka has died few days ago [3], [4]), but the image was not mentioned or reprinted in the book, as far as I can remember. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 05:33, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
I have got this first important CD of Grigolo. Today, I received my new German opera magazine "Opernglas" (Operní kukátko", where his new CD "Arrivederci" is being advertized and praised warmly. He sings some known Italian songs but also arias by Verdi, Puccini, Giordano and Mozart! He is called "Startenor" there.
As a leaflet, there is some information about performances in the Metropolitan Opera in 2011-2012, to be shown in cinemas as I suppose. 1. Donizetti, "Anna Bolena", 15.10.2011, 19:00 p.m., with Anna Netrebko and Ildar Abdrazakov. 2. Mozart, "Don Giovanni", 29.10.2011, 19:00 p.m., with conductor James Levine, Polish baritone Mariusz Kwiecien as Giovanni, further Barbara Frittoli and Ramón Vargas (was in Ceský Krumlov recently -?). 3. Gounod, "Faust", 10.12.2011, 19:00 p.m., with Marina Poplavskaya, Jonas Kaufmann (Bavarian "Startenor") and René Pape. 4. Massenet "Manon", 07.04.2012, 18:00 p.m., conductor Fabio Luisi, with Anna Netrebko (she is a "megastar", primadonna assoluta, and being loved as a sexy Russian) and Polish star tenor Piotr Beczala. 5. Verdi "La Traviata", 14.04.2012, 19:00 p.m., conductor Fabio Luisi, with French soprano Natalie Dessay, Matthew Polenzani and Dmitri Hvorostovsky. There is also Wagner in-between (twice) and a mix from Händel, Rameau and Vivaldi, 21.01.2012, 19:00 p.m. Singers: Joyce DiDonato (US soprano), David Daniels (not known to me) - and Plácido Domingo.
The death of Jaroslav Smolka is very regrettable. If you look at en-wiki, there is a short bibliography now. I was the person who did it, with two books, this particular biography by Smolka (I possess it) and a very comprehensive book by Janice Stockigt, an Australian lady, published in Oxford 2000 (I don´t possess this one). I am a member of Zelenka Forum at internet - I´ll give you the link after having saved the page.
http://www.jdzelenka.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2
As to the image on the right side, I remember to have read on the Forum that it is depicting someone else, if any real person. There is supposedly no image of Zelenka at all, as he lived very privately and was scarce of money. One image attributed to him was said to be of Viennese musician Fux. There is also no prove that Zelenka travelled to Italy etc.
One day, I intend to write a short sentence on en-wiki about Emy Destinn having performed together with Enrico Caruso in the world premiére of "La Fanciulla del West" by Puccini.
By the way, Josefína Duskova was probably of Prague German origin. (How about Emy Destinn?) Did Josefína speak Czech at all? Her husband was of course a Czech. There are so many problems about the past times, and I wonder if we are just to our former German compatriots. And vice versa. Franz Kafka is a very good example. Relatives of his sister Ottla, who partly live in Kasperské Hory (Bergreichenstein), have recently sold a convolute of letters by Kafka to Ottla to German Literaturarchiv Marbach, for ca. 500,000 euros. This was very much hailed by the "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", because Kafka is being considered as one of the greatest German writers.
Have a nice day and weekend, but I would be happy to receive an answer from you.

Special page "2011 Chilean incident" has been recently deleted, by someone else. -- Zbrnajsem (talk) 18:31, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
I've heard about the live broadcasting from MET, some of the performances could be promising (Don Giovanni, Massenet). Here in Brno, we can visit the performances at Mahen Theatre and Reduta (Ha! What a coincidence! I created both the articles here on English Wikipedia :) Here is the full program for the Czech Republic.
I've checked the Smolka's book again, and there is no reproduction of any portrait of Zelenka.
As for Josefína Dušková, the official website of Bertramka has this information: "Her father was a pharmacist on Old Town Square and her mother came from a respected bourgeois family in Salzburg." However, her language abilities are not mentioned. It's hard to say, Prague of the late 18th century was in my opinion rather a German speaking city (especially nobility and the upper class), but I'm not sure. On a side note, even the great patriot Bedřich Smetana had problems with Czech language, he wrote his diaries in German :)
Yes, the "2011 Chilean incident" has been deleted. I was one of the initiators of the AfD discussion, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2011 Chilean pen incident. To me, it is quite an unusual situation, as usually I defend articles with such a broad coverage. I prefer to let the readers decide which way they interpret the information. However, this seems to me really stupid and my comments in the discussion are based on my personal intuition rather than on careful following of Wikipedia guidelines. In any case, I had just one !vote in this open discussion.

There are so many interesting topics to be presented on Wikipedia. However, some of them should be, in my opinion, first discussed between people who have some interest in them and some knowledge. I don´t know if you noticed that I don´t live in the country of our common interest. In fact I have lived in a neighbouring country west of the border for decades. So I have got some feeling on the sentiments here, even if I have my specific opinion. Well, of course there were scarcely any Czech speaking members of higher classes in the Old Town of Prague or in the Lesser Town around 1785 or 1790 or even 1850. We can´t change the history. We can possibly argue that Franz Josef had not let himself to be crowned King of Bohemia so that his claims to be ruler of the country were not fully justified, etc. I get so many informations from "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung", "Time", ARD, ZDF, Arte etc. Then there is no time to read books to the end, even that one by Kreiler I mentioned in the Czech article on Shakespeare under "Speculation". Now I would like to read a new biography of Talleyrand by a German author. And possibly one of Mitterrand (a similar name ...). Again, I wish you a nice weekend, Vejvančický. Sincerely, -- Zbrnajsem (talk) 19:43, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Jan Dismas Zelenka

New Missa Omnium Sanctorum recording by Ensemble Inégal. This is to announce an upcoming recording of Zelenka's last mass, Missa Omnium Sanctorum ZWV 21, by Ensemble Inégal conducted by Adam Viktora. The supporting work will be Barbara dira effera (ZWV 164), which has not been recorded before. The recording is planned for the end of June/beginning of July. I am particularly excited about this because the existing recording of ZWV 21 (by Frieder Bernius on Sony) was never released internationally, is currently unavailable, and will probably never be released again.

It looks as if Ensemble Inégal has done it again! They will release another CD with a world-première recording. But this time it will also contain the ultimate Zelenka mass.

ZWV 29 has made it onto the recording! See this link: http://www.nibiru-publishers.com/ind...lang=Engli sh

New Missa Omnium Sanctorum recording by Ensemble Inégal. Nibiru have told me that Janice Stockigt is writing the notes for the booklet of this CD issue. So between the professionalism of the performers and the very informed notes that will come to us from Australia, this issue may be one of the most important Zelenka releases ever.

OK, this is what Alistair and one other member wrote during 2011 about a new Zelenka CD by Ensemble Inégal conducted by Adam Viktora. Alistair is founder and "senior member" of the Zelenka Forum. He is a medicine doctor and an Englishman living in South Sweden. The Forum has not been very active recently. There are only 89 contributing members. I suggest to you to join the Forum, but it is your decision. There are very few members of Czech origin. All of this is very regrettable, given the magnificence of Zelenka´s lithurgical and other music. I would say, he is (really is) the Catholic counterpart of Bach. But mainly he was a genius whose name was Jan Dismas Zelenka, born in Lounovice pod Blaníkem. --Zbrnajsem (talk) 11:08, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your interesting and detailed information about recent Z's recordings. I doubt I'll join the forum, since Zelenka is just one of many topics of my interest. I spend my online time editing here on Wikipedia and I'm not active in any other project on Internet. There are too many people talking about everything and I have to spare some time also for my important real life activities :) --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 16:08, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
I wonder why people keep comparing Zelenka with Bach. Sure, Bach wrote a few really good things among a lot of boring stuff. But the little I have heard (and sung) of Zelenka's music appears more exceptional to me. Hans Adler 11:32, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
The comparison is logical, given the formal and stylistic similarity of their works. I admit, it becomes quite a cliché. Bach is often being criticised for his cold and mathematical approach to composing; Zelenka's style might seem more melodically inventive etc. It's a matter of opinion. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 16:08, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Alin.bufnila (talk) 08:02, 5 September 2011 (UTC)Alin Hello. I saw that you deleted the Robert Cristian Trif page. I wanna say that this person is an important business-man and also a football agent. He represents, among other, big names, like Gheorghe Hagi, Viorel Moldovan, Sam Allardyce, Miroslav Blazevic. So, he is someone well-known in Gulf Area. Have a nice day!

Thanks for the clarification. The first link (ziare.com) contains only a passing mention (they quote Trif's comment regarding a possible transfer of Mirel Radoi). The rest of your links are websites promoting Trif's business. This can not be considered as an independent evidence of notability. I'm sorry, but I still don't think that Robert Trif meets the notability requirements of Wikipedia. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 08:39, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

regarding Brahma_Kund

Dear Vejvančický,

The 'advertisement' notice(s) on the top of article Brahma Kund are worth consideration, as in our humble suggestion, the notice is inappropriate. Originally, the Sihor page when originally created by someone was containing missing reference to Brahma Kund and authentic information on Brahma Kund was required.

We, other than myself - user: Shivnag, are a small-serious team working towards assessment, exploration and verifying-validating the source material for various items/references, which falls under history, faith, beliefs, archaeology and architecture, for eg. to talk about Sihor. We ourselves are seriously concerned over authenticity of any content and the immediate article on Brahma Kund is a result of rigorous efforts invested during a reasonable span of time.

This monument is somehow already under look-after of official regional department/authorities and it carries a significance for the architecture and archaeology. However, creation of page was somehow an automated action while clicking on missing link of the same on Sihor page, and we believed what we did was proper, whereas we are simultaneously learning the wiki etiquette and guidelines and we in no manner or intention, interested in violating the same. We still realized if the Brahma Kund article could have been a stub under a relevant category, but the 'advertisement' notice is worth consideration.

Please treat this request as a humble thought/reply to latest outcome at wikipedia for the subjected page and kindly do the needful or may you please guide us, if we are still missing something important to learn and follow.

Thanking you in advance and kind regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivnag (talkcontribs) 11:26, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

re: regarding Brahma_Kund

Dear Vejvančický,

Thank you for your response and looking into the matter. Yes, the domain http://sihor.net belongs to us, and I, Nilesh Rana (user: Shivnag on wikipedia), represent the same as its owner. And before reflecting the Brahma Kund content on Wikipedia, we published a mini version of the same on our website, viz. http://sihor.net/brahma-kund-sihor, assuming it will help the wikipedia-system to validate the information against the actual source.

The article/content was lengthy enough and its core part only has been put on wikipedia. As expressed earlier, we are already into sorting out the various research materials, at the same time, anticipating some more tangible information, regarding the structure/monument of Brahma Kund at Sihor from few relevant sources and authorities.

As suggested by you, we shall be putting the following lines below the article, at the subjected URL, http://sihor.net/brahma-kund-sihor as:

"This research article and content are exclusively compiled and shared publicly by the Sihor.net, and the same has been permitted for its public usage for the purpose of study and awareness on various platforms, including on Wikipedia.org (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahma_Kund). Attempts have been made to collect most authentic information from various sources, including making personal visits to the place and meeting concerned people over a period of time. If you have any inputs, suggestions, to anything related to the Brahma Kund of Sihor, please write to us at : support@sihor.net"

Please let me know, if anything else would be expected from our side.

Thanking you once again and kind regards, Nilesh Rana (Shivnag) admin@sihor.net nilesh@euranus.net

Okay, the copyright problem has been resolved with the help of another editor, thanks for your collaboration. Previously I tagged your article as {{advert}}. The opening sentence of your article says that "Brahma Kund at Sihor is a mesmerizing space" ... etc. Please, note that this project is an encyclopedia, not a travel guide. The information included in our articles should be presented in a factual and neutral way. Please, try to avoid using peacock terms in your contributions.
Another problem is sourcing of your article. Well, now we have your website/research and I can see that Brahma Kund is a notable monument in Sihor also with the help provided by the Google Books search [5]. However, it would be better if you could provide full information identifying your sources (full bibliographical data of the books you've used for your research, reliable external links etc.) Please, let me know if you need any help with the correct formatting of your references, I'll try to help. Thanks for your understanding. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 16:56, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

appreciate your valuable guidance

i appreciate and thank you for the valuable guidance. All your points are just valid but somehow our criteria was more or less the same which is set out by wikipedia. Difficult part on our side was to filter promotional tone(people's sentiments/strong belief) and overcome the texts prevalent out of beliefs and mythology. Yet we tried or struggled serving a balanced piece of information. In fact i myself am keen on contributing to wikipedia positively in a fruitful , authentic and healthy manner and eventually we have already directed our efforts to find the geo-political reason for the monument of this stature was carved out by a king who happened to rule a kingdom few hundreds miles away from Sihor. We have sorted out from few available references and which we aim to present to help the information stand reasonable and correct. Editing of the article at its best will continue until we are not satisfied and until it doesn't fit thoroughly in wikipedia framework. Soon we shall update the article with some more reliable sources and information. Thanking you once again for your precious help, please take care and kind regards. Nilesh — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivnag (talkcontribs) 17:42, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

I've reworded some parts of your article. I changed the phrase "mesmerizing space" to "stepped tank", as I think it is more descriptive and serves better to an uninformed reader (I redirected "stepped tank" to temple tank, I hope it is the correct meaning). I also reworded the section "Future of Brahma Kund" to make it more encyclopedic. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 06:36, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks once again Vejvančický. There has been a fair amount of guidance from you past few days. Temple Tank is just an appropriate word and we are trying to learn from some rewording which will help us better apart from general understanding, for the nature and rules of wikipedia may not be compromised. However, at our end, learning continues (or it has begun), to get used to wiki guidelines, by the time we shall update the existing content. Kind regards, Shivnag (talk) 10:26, 6 September 2011 (UTC) Nilesh

Would you help me

I'm new and I don't want to be rude... Would you help me in order to make order in "giorgio fidenato" page? He is a Mister No-one in Italy, and because nobody in Italy will ever search for him, he achieved to write his own self-promotional page. How can I convince you all?

Louisbeta (talk) 08:39, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Hello Louisbeta. Your speedy and proposed deletion nomination has been repeatedly declined. If you have notability concerns, please take the article to WP:AfD for proper discussion and explain your concerns there. I'm afraid that your claim "He is a Mister No-one in Italy" is an insufficient rationale, as it is just your opinion. You should properly research the sources presented in the article and explain why you don't consider them reliable/sufficient. Thanks for your understanding. Here is an advice how to nominate an article at AfD. Best regards. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 09:18, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Can be a proof of my rationality ( :) ) that Fidenato (and some other guys) haven't their own page on Italian wiki? Also, in some case (quite correlate), Italian admins decided to delete the Italian version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Louisbeta (talkcontribs) 09:28, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

No, the presence or non presence of any subject on any other wiki project can not serve as an argument for deletion of an article here on English Wikipedia. Of course, it could be useful to check out whether a deletion discussion on it-wiki exists, however, this project should judge the subject independently. Is there any such discussion? Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 10:36, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, checking the page on it-wiki could be considered as a good evidence of your rationality and detective abilities :) --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 10:36, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

2011 Chilean pen incident

Hey, I wanted to say thanks for your comments at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/2011_Chilean_pen_incident. While we may disagree about the article, I was happy to see that you made your argument by analyzing the article's merit, not by hurling accusations like FuFoFuEd did. Also, I actually just got back from a trip to the Czech Republic and I wanted to say that your country is absolutely beautiful. Take care. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dubious Irony (talkcontribs) 20:55, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

I agree, the accusations were unfair. To me, it was quite clear that 'political bias' is not a problem on your part. ... It seems that we have lost a good and promising editor, and it is the saddest thing for me. I'm glad you like our country. Best regards. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 04:16, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Thank you

Thanks for removing the speedy tag in Ricardo Abad article. I was a little discorauged when I saw the cleaning tag 4 minutes after my first article. I did a newbie mistake publishing the initial article with no references. Thanks a lot for adding one. I though I could save a first draft and complete it later, but I have learnt my lesson. I'll do my best to improve the article and I'll add some reliable sources. I am willing to do my best to collaborate :) --Guiskilin (talk) 17:12, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for starting the article. There's no need to be discouraged, as you can always discuss and defend your intentions. Here on Wikipedia, nothing is lost forever :) Keep up the good work, and don't hesitate to let me know if you need any help. Best regards. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 06:29, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

PLease Stop Redirecting pages on Wikipedia

Please immediately Stop Redirecting pages on Wikipedia to various pages of your choosing. You can not simply "take ownership" of various names or subjects just because you want to. There are many people on earth who share the same name as the people on the pages that you are arbitrarily redirecting. You are not the owner of these names, concepts, ideas, people or items. Many have complained and it is quite rude.

Thank you for your cooperation, in the spirit of Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.8.241.243 (talk) 19:48, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

What are you referring to specifically? Is it Josh Levy? The page was deleted by someone else, and I don't object. However, there was nothing wrong with it. You've called the redirect "illegal", which was confusing to me. It was a plausible redirect to a character in a cartoon. It doesn't mean that all people named "Josh Levy" are characters from a cartoon series. It should be clear to any sensible person. The purpose of redirects here on Wikipedia is to ease navigation. Thanks for your understanding. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 08:16, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Social Independence

I want to know why you deleted my Page Social Independence. I am the one who made Social Independence Inc. so I just want to know why you Deleted it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KevoNicholson (talkcontribs) 17:41, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Please note that this project is an encyclopedia, not a directory of all websites in the world. The subjects of all entries must meet our notability requirements, which must be verifiable by reliable sources. You've created your website two weeks ago and I can't find a single evidence suggesting that your project meets our notability requirements. So that's why I deleted your article. Thanks for your understanding, and sorry for my belated response. Best regards. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 06:15, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Alvin Tengco

It's been recreated yet again (3rd recreation, apparently). Would it be possible to WP:SALT it? I've reported the creator to WP:AIV but s/he is obviously still at work. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 08:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Oh, you've already taken care of it. Nice one, thanks. ŞůṜīΣĻ¹98¹Speak 08:38, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
I watch the page. I'll salt if it appears again. Thanks for your collaboration. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 09:26, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Corrections

I believe I have corrected my mistakes on the article on Bill Hagan. Please review as I am new. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ghfkghdkfhsk (talkcontribs) 16:52, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

There's no substantial information about the subject in the sources that you have provided, Ghfkghdkfhsk. Please, see this project's notability requirements for people. Thank you. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 16:56, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of journal of laryngology and voice

Writing about the speedy deletion of may page Journal_of_Laryngology_and_Voice

The reason given was "This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time."

I have however addressed all the concerns of the delete done more than one year ago including getting an ISSN number etc.

Please guide what further has to be done

Rakeshdatta (talk) 15:15, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Please, check the red link Journal of Laryngology and Voice again, and you'll find this:
Please, note the © Journal of Laryngology and Voice at the bottom of their website. The page was copy-pasted completely and verbatim. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 15:24, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, got it.

Now what it the next step to do ? I want to put up this page again with changed content.

Rakeshdatta (talk) 15:35, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

You should search for reliable and independent sources that confirm the notability of the journal. You can also ask for help at the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Academic Journals or discuss the matter with the original nominator, User:Crusio. But please do not add copyrighted content to Wikipedia. Instead of it, simply rewrite the content in your own words. Thanks for your understanding. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 15:44, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Btw, here is the rationale by User:Crusio (he initially proposed the article for deletion): Non-notable journal, established only recently. Article creation premature, not included in any major selective databases. Does not meet WP:GNG or WP:NJournals. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 15:49, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
  • Please forgive me for butting in here, but G4 definitely also applies. This article was deleted after a deletion discussion and nothing has fundamentally changed about its claims for notability. Note that it was not deleted for being new (which is not a valid reason to delete anything anyway), but for lack of notability. --Crusio (talk) 15:52, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
No problem. The copyright problem was more glaring to me. The AfD (I checked it, of course) is more than one year old and the situation today could be different. I wasn't sure and therefore I altered the CSD rationale. I believe that my rationale is correct. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 15:57, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
  • It is, absolutely. I only wanted to point out that G4 also applies. Nothing much seems to have changed, &except that the journal has now been published for a year (but without any evidence being presented that it has made any impact yet). --Crusio (talk) 16:04, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
  • {{db-g4}} deletion noms are sometimes pretty tricky. It would be easier for me to decide if I would know your previous prod rationale. G4 is just a link to an old discussion, and the suitability for deletion is not always clear. Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 16:12, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I understand, the copyvio certainly was an uncontroversial delete. I had actually not noticed that this was a re-creation until warned by the PROD template. There are nowadays so many of these journals popping up all over the place and they all seem to want a WP page to show their importance, that it's difficult to keep track of all that were deleted... --Crusio (talk) 16:17, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
  • I know that you are interested in this area and I respect and trust your experience with similar articles. However, I delete articles on all possible subjects and I want to do my work carefully and correctly :) This was a safe way. Best regards. Where are you from?

I am writing on Bill Hagan because he saved my life in Yugoslavia. I am from Zagreb. Where are you from? - Burt — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ghfkghdkfhsk (talkcontribs) 09:37, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm Moravian. A friend of mine saved my life when I was a child and was stunned after hitting the bottom of a swimming pool. He found me underwater. I'm very grateful for that, but I don't think it is enough for Wikipedia notability requirements. I don't have any reliable source confirming this event, only my fragile memory. Usually you can write about similar events in your diary or blog, but not in an encyclopedia. --Vejvančický (talk | contribs) 10:48, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
