VisuaLeverage is an information design consultancy based in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Specializing in hand-drawn digital art and wall-sized, in-person graphics, VisuaLeverage uses visual strategy to engage audiences, boosting understanding and recall of complex topics.

Background

VisuaLeverage was started in 2017 by Mary Davis Michaud, who worked for more than two decades in public and population health consulting, research and administration. After working as an executive in local government, she saw the need for more effective cross-sector collaboration, as well as a broader understanding around strategies to address complex problems.

Ms. Michaud and her collaborators capitalize on the combined power of visual arts, data analysis, research training, and effective group process to "translate" complex topics into motivating, useful strategy. First founded as Health & Social Impact Strategies, LLC, VisuaLeverage emerged as a project of that firm.

Goals

VisuaLeverage exists to make great ideas come alive. Its mission is to inform better decisions in public policy, business, education, health, and community development. Using the power of sound science, clear ethics, and effective communications, VisuaLeverage is committed to engaging people to shape the communities where they live, the policies that affect them, and the systems they use.
