Work Plan

[edit]

For my work plan, I plan to develop a concise and clear Wikipedia article for graphic designer and director Karin Fong. I will focus on the structure first and foremost. Section headings of Fong’s education, works, career trajectory, awards, personal life etc. I would like for my Wikipedia article of Karin Fong to display the time I spent, dedicated to the research I will conduct on her. I will gather information from various sources including but not limited to peer reviewed journals, books, articles, etc. Ideally, I want to gather enough information to write a well thought out and punctual Wikipedia article that exhibits all of Karin Fong’s talents and achievements.

Balance is important to me while working on Fong’s article. Supplying enough content on all aspects of Karin Fong’s life is truly important to me as I feel that I’m working on something gratifying but at the same time exemplifying Karin Fong’s hard work. I will start with a brief overview of Karin Fong. A small section of her educational background. Stating that from a child, Karin Fong has always been artistic and when asked to do a project for school, she created a stop-motion film instead. She went the extra mile as a teenager by doing that. Fong took initiative at a young age that led her to so many achievements, notable achievements at that.  I want to focus in on Karin Fong’s life work. The trajectory from the point of college to where she is right now. A detailed timeline of how she became an AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) medalist over the course of a short 22-year span. Including all the major projects she’s worked on in film and television that led her to attain the AIGA award. I want to set a tone of excellence for my article on Karin Fong as this will be a new addition to Wikipedia. It’s important that I articulate my thoughts in an interesting way so that when someone conducts a Wikipedia search on imaginary forces, graphic design, or Carmen San Diego for example, that Karin Fong’s name will be associated to those terms in one way or another. Following the important guidelines while editing on Wikipedia I will follow a neutral standpoint. I want to point out the facts, not dim Karin Fong’s light nor do I want to glorify her like an obsessed fan.

Regarding all the facts of Karin Fong that I will help start creating and contribute to her Wikipedia page, it’s important that I insert strong citations from reliable sources. That I’m gathering correct information that is current and up to date. External links can be useful, but I would like to only use a few of those and gather the rest of my citations from other sources. Clarity, organization and being grammatically correct is key. I want the reader to understand, enjoy and get excited on what they’re reading of Karin Fong. Ideally, I would like my contributions to Fong’s page, to not have any distractions that will take them away from the knowledge they’re gaining by reading her Wiki page.

Following the talk page will be interesting for me as I get to see who will and will not like my contributions. Lastly, I will be including a photo of Karin Fong, strong caption to the photo and verifying that I’m not breaking any copywriting regulations.

Vivrantfran88 This is a substantial workplan. Please do the same with the annotated link list! Please see this fellow student's work for a good example. --Theredproject (talk) 03:58, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
