User:W.carter/You know you are really into editing when

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You know you're really into editing on the English Wikipedia when ...[edit]

All good articles should have a picture
Can I really use these??
  • ... you start copy editing your emails, only to notice that it doesn't work after you've sent them.
  • ... you start to disambiguate things you say so that no one will misunderstand what you mean.
  • ... you actually twitch when your friends comment that it was a great movie, since you know that it can only be a noted movie.
  • ... you get annoyed when you can't write a word on a Post-it and link it somewhere else.
  • ... certain random combinations of letters (COI, POV, ANI, etc) start to have meaning.
  • ... you get temporarily bored with your usual Twitter feed and start looking for the 'Random Account' button.
  • ... you finally upgrade your phone to one with a good camera so you won't miss a photo of something notable for an article. Again.
  • ... some previously ignored keys on your keyboard start to show signs of wear.
  • ... you start answering emails at work in English, even though both you and the recipient are Swedish.
  • ... you stop caring about what time it is since Wikipedia is always open.
  • ... insomnia is less boring.
  • ... you have used the line: "If I can just get in and take a picture of the artifact, I might even start an article about the museum." to bribe your way into not paying the exorbitant entrance fee. And you get in as well as keep your promise.
  • ... you start an email at work to a customer who has asked about something, with: "Hello Some Name and welcome to the Teahouse, ..."
  • ... you start ending email and social media messages with ~~~~ .
  • ... you can't find the "Thank button" on an email you have just received.
  • ... you take an extra moment and think about if you really are authorized to use your cleaning utensils (pictured).
  • ... you look for the "Show preview" button when writing an invoice at work.
