Seattle (English pronunciation: /siːˈæɾ(ə)l/, US dict: sē·ăt′·əl) is the largest city in Washington State and in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, and the county seat of King County. It lies in western Washington on the isthmus between Puget Sound (an arm of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada – United States border.
