Space 1026 is an art gallery and artist collective based in Philadelphia, PA. Since the collective's foundation, Space 1026 has hosted exhibitions, workshops, concerts, performances, auctions.
History[edit]
The collective was founded in 1997 by-- Jim Houser, . Its name is a reference to the address of the original gallery location in Chinatown: 1026 Arch St. At the foundation of the collective, there were -- members. A few of the members met initially in Providence, Rhode Island while working with artist and graphic designer Shepard Fairey. Space 1026 is primarily a collective for artists who work in screen printing,[1] though many members have explored performance art, dance and comedy as a collective.
As a collective, Space 1026 has associated with many artists and collectives over the decades. Fort Thunder
At times, Space 1026 operated as a venue for experimental musical performances. Artists who have performed at original Chinatown location include Daniel Johnston and Lightning Bolt.

In 20--, the Space 1026 was forced to move from their original location.[3] In 20-- they bought property in the --- neighborhood in Philadelphia, where the collective currently hosts exhibitions, parties, studios and workshops.
