Abby Wright's school, also known as blank or just the blank, was a school in South Hadley, Massachusetts. It is most known for its students' style of needlepoint samplers. The school was started by Abby Wright in 1803.

Biography[edit]

Abigail "Abby" Wright was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut in 1774. She was the only child of Levi Wright and Abigail Wolcott. Wright opened a girl's school in 1803, at the request of local townspeople. When she got married in 1809, Wright stopped teaching and her half-sister took over the school.^[1]
