Osler On Duty

Fever, famine and war was one of William Osler's quotes.[1]

In 1896, at the American Medical Association, Sir William Osler presented "The study of the Fevers of the the South",[2][3] in which he stated

Humanity has but three great enemies: fever, famine and war; of these by far the greatest, by far the most terrible, is fever.

The quote was used by epidemiologist Michael Osterholm in his book Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs, published in 2017.[4]
