From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In France, an agence de notation extra-financière [non-financial rating agency] is an agency charged with rating the social responsibility of a business or institution.[1] Whereas a credit rating agency will examine the financial aspects of a business, an agence de notation extra-financière will examine non-financial aspects of the business to assess whether the business is behaving in a sustainable manner. Such ratings are important in light of the French laws arising from the Grenelle Environnement.

The principal non-financial rating agencies in France are:

  • Bacqué&Gavet
  • BMJ ratings
  • Diversum
  • Novethic
