Bio

I am an eighteen year old male. I am a student at Everett Community College, and a dishwasher at a Chinese restaurant. I have lived in Washington state since 2007. I am interested in things that can be built or customized. More specifically computers, and cars (Japanese/German). I also enjoy the outdoors by taking nature walks (exploration of woods/beaches on Camano Island), or hiking.

Wikipedia has a very wide assortment of articles. But some areas I could expand upon are internet trends, certain YouTubers, and internet jokes/memes. If not I could also fact check these articles, or any other article. As I do believe having correct, and non-plagiarized content is important.

Article evaluation

[edit]

The planche is an exercise I have been interested in for its complexity, and difficulty. I have started to practice this exercise, but I still have to master its basic prerequisite, the frog stand. In researching the planche I have found its Wikipedia page, and found three aspects worth commenting on: its lack of information on possible injuries, muscles being used, and lack of citations or other wiki links.

Possible Injuries

[edit]

This article does not list possible injuries. I have seen that other exercise Wikipedia articles have a list of possible injuries associated with the exercise. Adding a section dedicated to injuries could prevent some, as the readers become aware of them. Such injuries in performing the planche include torn ligaments, wrist, elbow, and shoulder injuries.

Muscles used

[edit]

Although the article does mention some of the muscle groups being used during the planche position, It does leave out some. By adding another section titled, "Muscles Used", all of the muscle groups can be listed here such as, wrist flexors, wrist extensors, biceps, deltoids, supraspinatus, gluteus maximus, etc..[1] Also combining wiki links with these muscle groups can lead the reader to further information about said muscles.

[edit]

When reading the article I stumbled upon a value rating system used by gymnastics, at first I didn't know what it meant but with further research of another wiki article I found out. Creating a wiki link embedded in the sentence can provide a reader like me quick access to information on this value system. Although this article is very short it only provides two reference articles. Both articles contain good information, but one article contains misspelled words, and is not very cohesive. Adding more references can add reliability to the information provided.

Conclusion

[edit]

This article on the planche was decent. It did provide me with general information about it, like other variations, and its use in break dancing. But this article can still be enhanced. Along with this article information is scarce, so by adding additional resources like sections combined with wiki links it creates a more complete picture.
