Desmond Bradley (12th October 1934 - 6th November 1992) was an Australian violinist / composer and a preeminent violinist of the 20th Century. Born in Melbourne and having gained national recognition as the 'boy violinist', Bradley travelled to Paris as a 16 year old to complete his studies with George Enescu (1950 to 1953). During his activities as soloist, composer, concertmaster, session musician and arranger, Bradley featured in a wide array of professional engagements, and he appears in many recordings across multiple genres. His personal legacy as a composer includes a violin concerto, 3 symphonies, a 10 part brass work, and a number of compositions for violin and piano. As a violinist, he performed all of Paganini's 24 Caprices in public recitals on several occasions.
