From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

see-also-check is a script to help inspect the choice of links in an article's See also section (See WP:ALSO).

According to MOS:NOTSEEALSO: As a general rule, the "See also" section should not repeat links that appear in the article's body.

The script places red asterisk after any entry in the See also section that has also been linked in the article text or sidebars. When you click on the red asterisk, all instances of the corresponding link in the article text are outlined in red, and your browser should scroll to the first such link. You should find that collapsed content in sidebars and footers is opened up to reveal links within. This revealing of hidden content is a bit of a party trick, and you should not remove links from the See also section if they are only in side panels and footers. See here.

To use this script: Copy the line below, then [[click here]], paste the line, and hit Publish changes.

I don't have a dedicated test page for this script, but I have tested it at Anglican doctrine, and at Homosexuality and the Anglican Communion, where it opens up footers at the bottom of the page to show highlighted links.
