  • 1972 AGU/PGA scheduling issues; AGU allocated dates for PGA events either side of the Australian Open & threatened to ban all prize-money event from affiliated courses if they were not accepted, effectively ending professional tournaments & pro-ams [3][4][5]
    • Ban ran from 1 March through until 21 April when the PGA agreed to AGU scheduling through to the end of 1974 [6]
  • 1972 major tournaments saved after dispute with sponsors with PGA wanting control [7]
  • 1972 proposed Order of Merit [8]
  • Order of Merit system introduced in 1973. [9]
  • 1986 season ended with West Australian Open. Change to end with Australian Open thereafter. [10]
    • Therefore New Zealand events were part of the following years schedule
  • Tour names...
    • PGA Tour of Australia, aka "Australia – New Zealand Tour"
    • PGA Tour of Australasia from 1991, following addition of events in Asia
