Canon PowerShot G7 X

[edit]

The Canon PowerShot G7 X was launched by Canon in October 2014.[1] The Canon PowerShot G7 X was released to compete against Sony's Cyber-shot DSC RX100 series cameras, which up to that moment, remained unrivaled. The Canon PowerShot G7 X series has since proven very successful with new generations coming out every couple of years.[2] Its capability of taking high resolution photos and videos, and its amazing image stabilization, coupled with the portability of the Canon PowerShot G7 X Series has become a very popular choice amongst Youtube Content Creators, especially vloggers.[3] The success of the product resulted in two new generations throughout the years: the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II, launched in April 2016[4] and the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III, launched in August 2019. [5]

Canon PowerShot G7 X Series [6]

[edit]

The Canon PowerShot G7 X Series consists of compact point and shoot cameras with a retractable lens and a touch screen. The combination of its features, including the flip touch screen and exposure compensation dial along with its affordability and image quality made it a revolutionary approach to Canon's camera. The easy to use interface and high image and video quality target consumers of all skill levels, from amateur to advanced users. The built-in Wi-Fi Technology also made it a popular choice amongst consumers as it makes it quick and easy to share photos and videos with friends, family, and social media sites.

Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II [8]

[edit]

The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark ii was released in April 2016 and currently is being sold for $799.99 CAD. It is Canon's first camera to incorporate the newly developed DIGIC 7 image processor. The DIGIC 7 image processor enhances tracking and detection capabilities which helps keep subjects in focus when taking videos and images. The f/1.8-f/2.8 lens with 24-100mm 4.2x optical zoom paired with the DIGIC 7 image processor allows the camera to shoot high quality videos and photos with minimal noise, even when shooting in low-light settings.

Canon also introduced a Time-Lapse Movie mode in the PowerShot G7 X Mark II. In the original PowerShot G7 X, the closest option to capturing a time-lapse was taking shots in 15 second intervals, which is too long for an actual time-lapse video.
