I am a science communications manager in the Department of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Boulder. I received my PhD in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona and BS in microbiology from The Pennsylvania State University. Prior to my current position, I served as the Director of Basic Research for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (USA), as a freelance science writer, and as a molecular geneticist. I enjoy learning about nature and science, bird and wildlife photography, and playing American old-time music.
