John Edwards (born 1964) is a British free-improvising double bassist, active in the European free jazz scene.

Since taking up the bass around 1987, he has become one of the most in demand contributors to the London and Europe free-improvisation scene, playing with local regulars and international visitors, 150-200 gigs a year; He has appeared in ensembles alongside Evan Parker, Peter Brötzmann, Sunny Murray, Steve Reid, Derek Bailey, John Tchicai, Matthew Shipp, Sonny Simmons, John Butcher (musician) and many others.
