Sasi Raj (Born-August 20, 1970- ) is a proactive, independent and a liberal gentleman hailing from Vellore in southern India. Sasi Raj's father Chandra Babu Naidu hailed from Chennai and his mother Naveena Kumari also hailed from Chennai. He went to kinder garden school at Padmanabha convent promoted by Revoor Padmanabha Chetty who was a business man from Andhra. Sasi Raj scored distinction in his subjects right from kinder garden to 5th form and also excelled in extracurricular activities like public speaking and games.
Sasi Raj went to Vellore to study at Ida Scudder School to finish his 6th, 7th and 8th form during which time he stayed at his grandmothers residence at Gandhinagar Vellore. While at Vellore Sasi Raj was an active participant for the philanthropic blind school activity, social programs conducted by Jaycees and Rotary club of Vellore. One of the best teachers that Sasi remembers from his schooling at Vellore will be Graham Perrium an Australian volunteer at Ida Scudder School, who taught him English. Sasi decided to move to Madras to continue his studies after 8th form and he got his transfer certificate from Mr. Chacko who was the principal of Ida Scudder School at that time. The most memorable place Sasi remembers at Ida Scudder School is the library which kept his imagination alive.
In 1984 when Sasi moved to Madras he joined the Muthialpet Higher Secondary School after a lengthy administrative process which contested the validity of his education at Ida Scudder School. Even at Muthialpet School (MHSS) he excelled in his academics and scored distinction up to his 10th form. Sasi specialized in science and moths in his higher secondary and worked diligently to come out with 74% in his High School. Mr. Kameswaran was Sasi's favorite English teacher at MHSS and Mr. Kumaraswamy was a kind and considerate chemistry teacher who enabled Sasi to engage in studies for IIT admissions. Though Sasi tried many attempts to get admitted to IIT his attempts were a failure due to the corrupt process at IIT. At Muthialpet Sasi was a member of the National Service Scheme which engaged in tree planting projects in Memorial Grounds at Chennai.
After passing his high school Sasi decided to pursue his career in Engineering and got admitted in Vellore Engineering College through merit. Sasi secured a loan from a local bank to support his studies at VEC and engaged in scholarly activities at VEC while also participating in extracurricular activities like intra mural and fashion shows. Sasi also participated in Rotary club of Vellore debates and participated in the Rajiv Gandhi National Marathon in 1992. Sasi participated in the radio amateur club in T.Nagar , Chennai and learnt to operate the radio and qualified in the national test for amateur radio operators and got a call sign named VU2UCE. Sasi was engaged with fellow radio operators at VEC and tried to learn more about communications sincerely. Sasi enjoyed his communications theory classes and Network theory classes at VEC and his favorite scientist is Claude Shannon and his communication theory. Sasi studied analog communications and the successive PCM based systems and also learnt machine level programming at VEC. During the final year in 1990 due to political debacle in Tamilnadu Sasi was forced to join Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology were he eventually graduated in 1991. Sasi worked with CSIR on their training program to develop programs for digital FFT based EEG for studying brain waves.
