If I could remember the names of all these particles, I'd be a botanist.

Differential Manchester encoding[edit]

The Differential Manchester encoding page needs to be fixed, since it contains an erroneous image.

It was not trivial to find a reliable source for the definition of differential Manchester encoding. This one seems to be the good one: http://www.its.bldrdoc.gov/fs-1037/fs-1037c.htm

This definition makes clear the difference between Biphase mark encoding and differential Manchester encoding: BMC encodes the data in the middle of the clock period, differential Manchester encodes the data at the beginning of the pulse period.

An example of Differential Manchester encoding. There are two variants. In the first variant, 1 is represented by a transition at the beginning of the clock period (rising edge) and 0 is represented by no transition. In the other variant, 1 is represented by no transition and 0 is represented by a transiton. There is always a transition in the middle of the clock period (falling edge). The opposite polarity would also be valid; it depends on the preceding line state.
