- 1968-69 reached OHA finals with Midland Flyers Intermediate B team at 17 years old

- Also 1968-69 was scouted by Hap Emms, Owner/GM of Junior A Niagara Falls Flyers during tryouts for Junior B Owen Sound Greys

- Wayne played 2 full seasons for Niagara

- 1974-75 opened year with California Golden Seals as a 23 year old
