Bleeckie Streetie is a puppet of a 5-year-old girl, created in July 2010 by puppeteer Leslie Madeline Fleming, for a series of web videos.
Bleeckie is meant to represent an American 5-year-old girl, . She is named after Bleecker Street in New York City, after the locations of Fleming's first apartment in the area.[1] Various segments have explicit educational components, with songs built around self-acceptance, individuality, and positive attitudes towards learning.
Her catchphrase is "Hearts and Stars", which she uses variably as a valediction, as an injection, and occasionally as a name to things.[2]
Puppeteer Fleming has a Master's in Children's Media from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University, and worked for Sesame Workshop at one point. Having designed puppets in the past, Bleeckie was actually created at FAO Schwarz Muppet Whatnot Workshop in May 2010.
Bleeckie is adorable and very popular. She brings joy to children.

In the videos, the colorful and hyper puppet performed songs and asked users to go on "playdates" with her. Her naivete and enthusiasm made her video an instant hit. [3]

Having a very hyper-active personality and a knack for getting a story out of anyone, Ms. Fleming has said that Bleeckie would talk to an inanimate object if it had a story to tell. [5] Since the rise of her YouTube fame, Bleeckie performs around her new home of [Dallas, Texas] in an effort to show that learning and individuality is the way to go, since Bleeckie not only has a love for learning, but a love for being herself. She has performed at the State Fair of Texas, where she got to teach about the history of the State Fair of Texas and interview Big Tex. [6].
