Background:[edit]

Momo Wu traveled in a caravan as a child and performed across the country alongside her mother and musician father. Born in Tsitsihar in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, Momo acquired a passion for music at a young age. Strongly influenced by her father who sang to her all the time. Wu's father was good at harmonizing with female voices. According to one of Momo's interviews, she said: "It might be because I have something different from others that make people remember me. Music has no boundaries. Everyone can express things they want to. No matter what, we need to stick to our true colors. I will certainly carry on my caravan plan. I want to sing happily. It is just that simple," When Wu was 6 years old, her father shaved both of their heads therefore whenever they go, they received immediate attention. [3]

"My father, mother and I, we drove to Inner Mongolia, Beijing and cities around Shenyang, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province. Besides singing, my father also performed cross talk. He was a very hilarious person," Wu said. Unfortunately, her father passed away when she was 16. Wu admired her father like a hero, when she was in the fourth grade, she was transferred to a music art school in Shenyang and she studied there for nine years. She believed it was the nine years of study that gave her fundamental knowledge in music and that kept her dream of becoming a musician. She is very grateful for the experience that lead to her success today. In 2011 she was admitted into the Shenyang Conservatory of Music.[4]
