Diplomat March is an American march composed by John Philip Sousa in 1904. The march is officially dedicated to John Hay, who was the 37th Secretary of State of the United States.

However, the march is dedicated to a different person according to Sousa's own words.[1] Sousa's inspiration for the march came from "the best tenderloin he had ever tasted" from an unseen cook and that he had an intention to dedicate the march to the unseen cook. The march was first performed in 1904 at an annual Corn Palace Festival in Mitchell, South Dakota.
