Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Omid Kordestani. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. Zyma (talk) 17:33, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removed a bunch of requests from WP:RFPP

[edit]

Hey! I noticed that you removed a bunch of requests that hadn't been handled from WP:RFPP. What was your reasoning for this? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:05, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Blaze Wolf: Hi. I have not deleted anything. Can you show me? Masoud bukani (talk) 19:52, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Requests_for_page_protection/Increase&oldid=1073617653 You clearly did so in this edit ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:52, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Blaze Wolf: I did not notice this. It was an inadvertent mistake. please accept my apologies. It was unintentional.Masoud bukani (talk) 19:55, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's alright. I started a discussion at WT:RFPP relating to what we should do about this. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:57, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, as you did at Aziz Khan Mokri, you may be blocked from editing. If you're going to complain about other users making undiscussed moves and then do the same thing yourself, it really casts your edits in a bad light. You need to discuss the situation; if a consensus emerges for a new name, then it will be moved.C.Fred (talk) 21:28, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@C.Fred:

me? i added the text with two sources!! Find another excuse. It's really weird, I add content with the source, you delete it !! It's so weird. i did not do anything wrong. Please check the edit before warning..Masoud bukani (talk) 21:44, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not deleted, moved. And moving the page after the AN report you filed today is definitely wrong, or at least downright fishy. —C.Fred (talk) 21:48, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is a cooperative editing environment

[edit]

Hi Masoud bukani. Can I just start out by saying I don't have an opinion on the correct spelling of these places or tribes. I've had a look through some academic sources, both 'o' and 'u' seem to be used and I don't have the subject knowledge to make a judgement on the issue.
What I wanted to say was that being right isn't enough on Wikipedia, you need to work with people (who may strongly disagree with you) and come to consensus amicably. I suggest the first step would be to start a discussion at Talk:Aziz Khan Mokri (or join the one already started by C.Fred) and work from there. Wikipedia has many avenues for resolving such disputes, trying to force what you believe to be right isn't the way to go. - LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 21:53, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks, I participated in the discussion. Masoud bukani (talk) 05:32, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am going to assume you've been around long enough to be familiar with WP:No personal attacks, so I won't give you a templated warning. I will, however, point out a few things:
    1. In English, the pronouns used for a person or sentient being are primarily he and she, with some usage of singular they, as well as infrequent use of alternate pronouns based on the person's preference. It is reserved for inanimate objects and non-sentient beings. Using the pronoun it to refer to a fellow editor thus connotes dehumanization and is viewed as a personal attack. If you are unsure of a person's preferred pronouns or gender, singular they is the safest current pronoun choice in English; you could also use he/she constructions, and I wouldn't fault you for using he as a generic.
    2. Accusing another user of "disruption [sic] edit"s and "forgery" are very serious accusations. You need strong evidence, particularly for the latter. Nothing in the diffs you have presented rise to the level of showing forgery. Please tone down the rhetoric; unsupported accusations of that nature can be viewed as personal attacks, and editors have been blocked for bad-faith accusations in the past.
I do not know enough Arabic Persian to comment on the "right" way to spell AKM's name. I know enough about Arabic-script languages to know that there are issues with how it is Romanized into the Latin alphabet. There may be a "right" way to do it from a scholarly/linguistic standpoint, but even that changes over times (look at the various spelling standards for Mandarin, for instance). There is also the issue, with a name, of the common spelling of the name—and sometimes, Wikipedia policies steer us in that direction over what is grammatically right. Furthermore, I'm into this situation in my role as an administrator. It's not my place to rule on what is the "right" name, unless there were a formal discussion that required closure after the end of a week and a ruling on consensus. It's my place to ensure that editors observe Wikipedia's policies and guidelines—not only the ones for content, but also the ones for conduct. —C.Fred (talk) 12:20, 5 April 2022 (UTC) amended 15:43, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@C.Fred: Arabic? Our (Iran) language is Persian , why do you say Arabic? Instead of threatening me, help resolve this content dispute. Do not marginalize the discussion. If you are unfamiliar with this topic, let's vote and agree on a name. Masoud bukani (talk) 14:20, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Persian. Apologies. I saw the Arabic script and did not look closer. Again, because I'm involved at the administrative level, I'm not wading into the details of the content dispute. I'm looking at there having been a previous apparent consensus on the spelling and you attempting to run roughshod over it.
Further, we don't vote on (English) Wikipedia. We discuss and reach a decision through consensus. —C.Fred (talk) 15:43, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 hours for persistently making disruptive edits. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  DMacks (talk) 14:16, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The page-move of Mokri tribe is what pushed this to a block. You know very well that the spelling is (at best) disputed and is currently spelled with an "o" on wikipedia. And that your previous move attempts on both enwiki and commons have been rejected. Therefore, this action of yours was an abuse of process and blatant failure to collaborate. DMacks (talk) 14:18, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DMacks: This user C.Fred speaks my language is Arabic and does not help on the page of this article (Aziz Khan Mukri) and tells others that my account should be blocked! Sorry for this behavior. It does not help the project.Masoud bukani (talk) 14:23, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The block is for your behavior, which is disruptive and against several of our policies and guidelines. It is not about your idea for the spelling. By being disruptive, your ideas don't get heard. DMacks (talk) 14:32, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DMacks: This is really strange and unfair! In the content of this article (Mokri tribe) the name mukri tribe is mentioned and the word mukri is mentioned many times !! What did I do wrong ??

@DMacks: My Move was perfectly correct and based on the content of the article.Masoud bukani (talk) 14:34, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why block users instead of solving the problem? I disturbing? Did you see my sources? Why do they talk about threats and accusations instead of talking about that name? With this action of yours; Not only was the problem not resolved, but you made matters worse, and I do not see neutrality. Masoud bukani (talk) 14:38, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's really not hard to start a discussion before acting. Wikipedia is not an anarchy. That page has been moved back and forth multiple times, and that spelling has been disputed on multiple pages. You should have known it was going to be controversial and been less bold about it. Again, your behavior is out of line. During a block, no content idea you have matters at all--you do not have permission to participate in building our encyclopedia for the next ~30 hours. DMacks (talk) 14:40, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DMacks: user Historyofiran Removes resources and you do not give him any warnings. Did you observe neutrality? I participated and took the time to help and solve the problem. I do not participate in discussions anymore, go and solve problems yourself (Names). Thanks.Masoud bukani (talk) 14:51, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I already stated very clearly why I removed those cherry picked sources you slammed into the top of the lede [1], completely disregarding the quality of the article. Clear WP:COMPETENCE issues. --HistoryofIran (talk) 15:32, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Someone moved it without discussion, Historyofiran undid it. That undoing is a valid action. Someone making a change and then someone else undoing it (almost any kind of change) is generally valid. DMacks (talk) 22:01, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
