Jirat

[edit]

In India populated places are generally identified during each census operation as a village/town/city. The last census was in 2011 and next is expected in 2021. In between people/ organisations make guess-estimates that do not have any formal validity. In Wikipedia, India-related pages for populated places generally have a section on Demographics. At the end of that section the source or reference is indicated. That leads to the relevant census page which clearly indicates the status of that place. For Jirat, you can go to that Census data and see for yourself what it is identified as. Facebook and numerous other sites are not considered reliable sources for the purpose of reference.

However, as a newcomer, you can have a broad idea about populated localities in India.

Cities are generally places with 1,00,000+ population. You can have a look at List of cities in West Bengal by population.

Towns are generally those with a municipality.

Census Towns are identified by the census operations with certain conditions.

Villages do not have population limits. Normally these are places where a majority of the people depend on agriculture for a living. There are many villages with 10,000+ population.

It is possible that Jirat may be identified as a census town in the 2021 census, but then you have to wait and see the final result. Till then Jirat will remain identified as a village. Possibly it only indicates that a majority of the people depend on agriculture for a living.

For use of bold etc. see Wikipedia: Manual of Style/Text formatting

Jirat Hospital moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Jirat Hospital, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
