@PointsofNoReturn: Yeah, I know, and it's not ideal but it's the only source for the information. Regardless, it passes as a reliable source because of WP:SELFSOURCE. customWatchlists

Congrats again on the recent GA, both of them! I saw that you had tried out customWatchlists and wanted to ask what you thought of it. For me, I hate when I miss changes to pages I care about, whether because I haven't checked my watchlist in so long, or that those pages blended in with the masses of other pages I watch and I just missed it. So I made customWatchlists so I could organize everything. Do you have the same problem? Was the script helpful in that regard? What could I do to improve it? Sorry for being so inquisitive, but as far as I know you're the only one who has tried it out. Just eager to get a second opinion. Thanks! — MusikAnimal ^talk 22:08, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

@MusikAnimal: No problem; I check out different scripts all the time, and I've been searching for ones that'll simplify watchlists. I found that for most cases, I don't watch enough pages to necessitate breaking up my watchlist, but when I spend a weekend or sometimes a week away from the computer, it should help with that quite a bit.

I did find that customwatchlists adds a box to the watchlist page that takes up quite a bit of room. I wish there was a way to hide the original watchlist options box and other text, to more easily just see the changes, with less scrolling down. So with customwatchlists taking up even more of that vertical space, I suppose there should be some way to remedy that.

I also wish there was a more convenient way to move items from the general watchlist to the specific ones; as it stands you'd have to go to the articles, unwatch them, and rewatch them in a custom watchlist? A list of all items you're watching and drop-downs next to each for moving to other watchlists would be ideal.

Other than that, it seems like a very good tool. There should be a place to list everyone's tools, or otherwise it's hard for others to find them.--ɱ (talk · vbm) 22:54, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for the valuable feedback! I like the idea of squashing some of the less-used content at Special:Watchlist. I'll brainstorm some ideas for that. As for adding pages to your customwatchlist, there should be a "cw" link added to each entry of your normal watchlist, like "(diff | hist | cw)". Clicking that will open the manager interface. This may have not been implemented when you first tried it out, though. Also, you do not need to unwatch before adding to a custom watchlist. When you add to a custom watchlist it will add that page to your normal watchlist as well, but never unwatch. I'm working to find a way to make this more intuitive. Finally, I was thinking I'd write another script that can be ran the first time you use customWatchlists. What it would do is go through all the mainspace pages you currently watch and assign them customWatchlists based on their WikiProjects. That might be a difficult script to write, and may create too many unwanted customWatchlists... maybe just make it so that you can specify which WikiProjects you want to have a customWatchlist for. I have tons of ideas... it's a one step at a time type thing, since a script like this is so complicated I don't want to work really hard and then find a better way to do it. Hence why the feedback is valuable :)

One more thing, Wikipedia:User scripts is the unofficial homepage to list user scripts. There's several watchlist-related ones, namely User talk:UncleDouggie/smart watchlist.js, but I couldn't get it to work and it seemed too convoluted for my needs, which is how customWatchlists was born. I forgot about the cw button, that's good. It should allow removing from the general watchlist; that's the main reason why I'd create a second watchlist, to unburden the first. I think the WikiProjects idea is pretty good, and may be very useful for some, me included. Since 2003, Heavenly Productions Foundation has donated money, Heavenly Lullabies CD’s, Heavenly Skies & Lullabies Books/CD’s and supported the following organizations: the Twin Towers Orphan Fund, World Vision, Operation Gratitude, St. Vincent’s Midtown Hospital, Habitat for Humanity in Kansas, Kips Bay Girls & Boys Club, New York-United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Blythedale’s Children Hospital, Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and the March of Dimes. Most recently, Heavenly Productions Foundation released a song entitled “Winter Wonderland” on iTunes in support of Project Oatmeal and all net proceeds goes to support the Food Banks of NY and help feed the poor. Heavenly Productions has made several trips out to Long Island, Breezy Point, Far Rockaway’s and other area’s of New York delivering much needed food, supplies and clothes to families in need affected by Hurricane Sandy.

We are a part of the Chamber of Commerce. We are certified with the IRS.

The Wikipedia information on Armonk does list some of the businesses in Armonk as well as the Library and about the Frosty the Snowman Day. Why is Heavenly Productions Foundation, a very active charity in our community that even does Operation Teddy bear projects with Armonk's school HC Crittenden not allowed to communicate that it is an integral part of Armonk. I supplied you with information from one of our Press Releases. Let me know what information is then allowed.

PS By the way, your comment to me was update. Before you used the word "puffery" about our charity. "In law, puffery is a promotional statement or claim that express subjective rather than objective views with no reasonable person would take literally." "Puffery serves to puff up an exaggerated image of what is being described...." If you took the proper time to even do a bit of research about our charity, you would learn about all the good we have done to children in need in Harlem, Bronx, South Bronx, Far Rockaway, Yonkers, Long Island and even as far as Ghana, Africa, Haiti and Jamaica.

I would be very careful of what you state here on Wikipedia, I took images of what you wrote about our charity which I now deem as defamation of our charity. I will speak to our charity's law firm tomorrow.

I am an experienced editor here on Wikipedia, where I have considerable background in writing articles on municipalities and communities, such as Armonk. As well, I am a Westchester native and am very familiar with Armonk and its surrounding area. If you believe Heavenly Productions Foundation has significant notability, write an article on it, because it is not appropriate for articles on entire municipalities to mention each and every charity or good-hearted organization within its borders. In general, articles like Armonk shouldn't mention any business corporation, whether non-profit or not. If the business corporation has significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, then mention can be made. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) for more specifics. If such an article were created for your charity, then it would be fair to briefly mention in the Armonk article that the corporation is located there.

Now as for "puffery", that was my edit summary for an edit of mine where I cleaned up the Frosty the Snowman day section of the Armonk article. The word "puffery" was never used in an edit summary for an edit changing anything related to your charity. As for your open threats, I really don't appreciate them, and the Wikimedia Foundation fiercely supports its editors and its policies.

2013 Spuyten Duyvil derailment

We named that article with the month because there is still the possibility that someone will write an article about the July 2013 Spuyten Duyvil derailment, the one that was just the freight train but happened at nearly the same location. LEGO Castle set images

Hi, just wondering why remove image lugnet links for the readers/users? When a reader can just 'click' the link to set image right away. What you have created is an extra steps for anyone to search either on their mobile phone or desktop. In other words they would have to type or copy and paste. The behind it was to make simple and not harder. So, can you explain or reason why you remove the links of LEGO Castle set images. Per Wikipedia's External Links rule, no external links should be placed inline in an article. It's a standard that exists over every quality article. As well, why direct to LUGNET when many would rather use a source like BrickLink, BrickSet, or Brickipedia? ElKevbo: An IP removed them without leaving an edit summary, so I should have the right to assume it was vandalism. As for the terms, they provide clarification. As well, "American" is a common standard. Look at the WP article of any US-born or -based actor, songwriter, author, college, company, etc. and you should see "American" in the lead. On Wikipedia at least, it is not considered ambiguous; it is a standard adjective to describe a US resident or US-based institution.--ɱ (talk · vbm) 04:45, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

ElKevbo: It's a guideline, it's still within my rights. Many (most?) editors will automatically revert any content removal by an IP who doesn't leave an edit summary. It's pretty standard, just as much as the "American" thing. As for the word "located", perhaps it's slightly subjective, but I feel it gives more clarity: that the school itself is located in Ithaca. If I hear "the school is in Ithaca", I can easily presume that's only one of many locations, some perhaps even larger or more significant than the Ithaca location.--ɱ (talk · vbm) 04:54, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
