Welcome!

Hello -Demosthenes-, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  -- GraemeL (talk) 18:17, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The links above should help you find some of the policies for creating articles. You might also want to take a look at Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines#Content guidelines. Some of the policies are a bit hard to find, so drop me a note on my talk page if you have specific questions. --GraemeL (talk) 18:17, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

User warnings.[edit]

You're putting them in the wrong place.  :) You want them on User_talk:199.71.141.254 not on User:199.71.141.254. Wikibofh 17:36, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ok, now I'm confused. The user you are warning isn't editing those articles, particularly since I blocked the account for a week. Wikibofh 17:42, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Additionally User:68.173.157.213 actually removed vandalism and this is from November 16th. So the warning is incorrect and really tardy. Normally we need to warn within a day or two for it to be of much use. Wikibofh 17:45, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • Thank you for noticing, and for trying to correct it. I'll try to be more careful, and figure this out more. Thanks, -Demosthenes- 17:46, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
      • No problem. Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. I'll provide what help I can. Wikibofh 17:53, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Hugowinners1968.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hugowinners1968.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:26, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Hugo Winners is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Hugo Winners until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Hugowinners1968.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hugowinners1968.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
