Non-free image use[edit]

Hi 06porterr. While it is true that Wikipedia does allow the use of some logos as non-free content, each use must satisfy all 10 of the non-free content criteria listed in WP:NFCCP. One of these criteria is WP:NFCC#9 which states that non-free content may only be used in the article namespace; this means (as explained in WP:DRAFTS#Preparing drafts) that non-free content is not allowed to be used in drafts. So, please don't re-add the file to your draft because doing so is clearly not allowed by relevant policy. WP:NFCI is just meant to give examples of some types of non-free use that are generally considered acceptable, but WP:NFCCP is the policy governing non-free content use.

Amyway, File:Malvern College Crest.svg is being used in Malvern College, so it should only be added after the draft has been approved and upgraded to an article. Just for reference, another one of the non-free content criteria is WP:NFCC#10, which states that a separate specific non-free use rationale needs to be provided for each use of non-free content. This rationale has to show how the particular use satisfies all 10 of the aforementioned criteria. So, make sure you are sure that non-free use is justified and explain how by providing the required rationale before adding the image to any articles. Non-free use can be tricky and simply providing a rationale is no guarantee that the image will still not be removed at a later date. In particular, the main issue you're going to have to resolve has to do with item #17 of WP:NFC#UUI. In general, logos or crest for schools are considered OK for stand-aone article about the main univeristy (in this case this would be Malvern College), but not acceptable for articles about subsidiaries/branches/departments, etc. like Malvern College Egypt appears to be. A logo specific to Malvern College Egypt (like the one shown at malverncollege.edu.eg), however, would be fine to use per item 2 of WP:NFCI. Just don't upload it until your draft has been upgraded to an article. If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask them at WP:MCQ. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:20, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
